Doing more with less
Have you come across Pareto’s Law or Pareto’s Principle (they’re the same thing by the way)? In essence, the principle roughly states that 80% of results come from 20% of the effort.
I usually put videos in for fun, but this time, it might be actually worth watching this one. It’s only 1 min long.
Pareto’s law rocks!
Too often, we can become bamboozled with information, courses, gurus, etc, who tell us we need to become masters at something, and only they can unlock the secrets which will turn your business around.
Yet if we think there’s any merit to Pareto’s Law then what we really need to know is that with a little bit of knowledge/effort, we can achieve the majority of our results. Yes, that final extra 20% improvement might make a huge difference, but don’t let it stop you from getting started.

So what do you want to learn?
What I’m saying is you don’t need to master the intricacies of Google AdWords to create effective advertising campaigns. You just need to know the basics and make sure you don’t fall into any major pitfalls. Learn 20% of the subject and you’re 80% of the way there.
Facebook advertising? Yup, the same principle applies. Learn the basics (properly!) and get on with it. There’s no need to pay a consultant thousands a year when you can effectively manage it yourself.
Of course, you may not have the time or the inclination, but that’s an altogether different matter.
You don’t need to become a guru yourself to do your own marketing. You don’t need to be AdWords qualified to get a successful advertising campaign up and running.
You don’t need to be a Social Media Expert to run your Facebook and Twitter accounts.
You just need a solid grasp of the basics.

Forget the experts – unless you want expert help – and grab hold of Pareto’s law for yourself.
